Choose at least one movie from the list below. Google the disorder associated with the movie or use your textbook as a reference. Answer the following questions on paper (typed or handwritten). I will be looking at these papers so this information needs to be in writing. Your final draft for both sets of questions should come up to about 2-3 pages typed, double-spaced.
1. What are five of the symptoms of this disorder?
2. In what population (meaning what age, what gender etc). is this disorder most common?
3. What are some of its causes?
4. What are some treatments for this disorder?
Watch the movie of your choice and attempt to answer the following questions:
1. What are some examples from the movie of symptoms of this disorder?
2. Is this disorder represented in the movie in any way that is surprising to you or that does not correspond to the official information about the disorder?
3. People who suffer from mental illness often suffer from more than one mental illness. Do the characters in this movie suffer from any other mental illness’s apart from the one you have researched?
Note: It could be very cool to contrast two movies’ representations of the same disorder. So, for example, look at how antisocial personality disorder is represented in No Country for Old Men and Silence of the Lambs.
